From all of us at Day & Zimmermann, happy #LaborDay! 🛠️ Today, we celebrate the tenacity, ingenuity and contributions of the American worker, including our global workforce of over 40,000 hardworking men and women committed to embodying our core promise: We do what we say®.In the words of Hal Yoh, our Chair and CEO: "Today, as work has evolved, and continues to evolve, it's about appreciating all workers and the many different types of work they do. Whether sitting at a desk or turning a wrench, work involves many different skills, experience and effort. Each generation had different challenges. Each generation overcame them, which continues today as a testament to the respect and honor due to American workers."Hear more from Hal's reflections this Labor Day: https://hubs.ly/Q02Nctg00

To strengthen our commitment to Safety across the Day & Zimmermann enterprise, members of our Safety Council recently toured one of our Maintenance and Construction division's projects in the southeastern US to observe its implementation of various risk-reduction tools and programs designed to foster a safe working environment for all employees. The visit is the first of many across our business units, as the Safety Council plans to visit projects within our Munitions and Government Services divisions to streamline best practices for promoting workplace safety across our organization. As Thomas Bayer, CSP, Safety Council member and DZMC Vice President of EHS noted, "The opportunity to collaborate with other D&Z EHS professionals, in person and in the field, was exciting. The ability for us Safety Council members to meet face-to-face, discuss our programs, observe training and work processes, and discuss similarities and differences between our respective business units has proven extremely insightful. I look forward to visiting other sites across our enterprise to identify additional best practices and learning opportunities. Ultimately, collaboration and knowledge sharing will improve and strengthen our safety culture and ensure we continue to exemplify our 'Why Not Zero' philosophy."#Safety #SafetyCouncil #SiteVisit #WhyNotZero #Collaboration

Talent, more than capital, is the greatest challenge confronting today’s construction industry. Multiple headwinds, including a shrinking and aging talent pool as well as society’s blue-color bias, have caused the overwhelming demand for skilled craft professionals to grossly outpace supply. Industry leaders have a critical role to play in championing craft careers and strengthening our country’s talent pipeline. As a leading craft employer in the U.S., we annually hire over 15,000 skilled craft professionals for projects across the nation — and we also are leaders in advocating for craft careers. Our Maintenance and Construction division recently published an eBook sharing our views on workforce development as well as tips and ideas for meeting the demand for skilled craft that leaders can employ in their own workplaces and communities.Download our eBook and join us in closing the skilled craft gap with strategies and solutions aimed at cultivating the next generation of skilled craft professionals who will help modernize America and build our future! https://hubs.ly/Q02Lr7G50#SkilledCraft #CraftCareers #WorkforceDevelopment #ConstructionJobs #WeDoWhatWeSay
